Day 19: Krimson Karnage (for B.A.S.H.)

Another member of Doctors Without Boundaries. 

Doctor Babylon (DrB): “Speaking of misgivings, why’s KK here? The man’s an omni-directional menace.”

Doctor Verity (DrV): snickers

DrB: “I’m sure it’ll be less funny when he lets rip.”

DrV: “It’s a lot better having him in the tent pissing out than the other way around”.

DrB; “Wisdom for the ages, Doc”. 



He tried Doctor Death, Doom, Destruction, Maimenstein, and those are just the best ones. In the end he fell back on the old one. Krimson Karnage, a disaster on legs. A bear-human hybrid with a M134 minigun. 

Before his grand transformation he was Derek Fielding, a janitor at Athano Inc., the medical company with all the lawsuits. Derek used the fact that one junior scientist was sloppy with his keycard to order “Genuine East Siberian Bear Glands” through the company. When the changes started to take effect, he was already out on his ass without his last paycheck. 

Not much later people reported a new cryptid, the Beech Creek Bear Man. After a month of eating terrified hikers’ provisions (no actual hikers, he swears), park rangers captured him. Derek was saved from a life as a public freakshow by Mister Ballistic, the man he still considers his mentor and father figure. It was Ballistic who gave him the minigun he loves so dearly. Ballistic is currently serving time, and his metaman militia has dispersed to the four winds. Derek became a powered mercenary and took the name Krimson Karnage. It just looks cool with the double k’s. 

Motivation: Krimson Karnage is very enthusiastic about creating mayhem and getting paid to do it. He has discovered that being hand-picked for the supervillain dream team has scratched an itch for recognition he did not know he had.

Powers

Keen Sense (smell) (Level 1) (1 pt)

Gives a +3 Multiplier Bonus to Mind when using the sense of smell.

Resistance (Cold, Poison) (Level 1) (1 pt)

Krimson Karnage takes half the effect/damage from cold or poison. 

Martial Arts Mastery (Level 2) (2 pts)

Tough: You can take a hit. Your Brawn is considered 2 higher for Soaking damage and Knock-Back caused by hand-to-hand attacks.

Grappling: You can more easily reverse an opponent’s hold and use their strength against them. You can get a reversal whenever you beat a foe in a Grapple by 10 (instead of 20), and you can achieve a reversal whenever a Brawn Contest is used by your grappling opponent (not only on your own Panel). In addition, your multiplier with all wrestling rolls is 1 higher (to a maximum of x5).


Gatling Gun (Level 4) (7 pts)

KK has a spinning, ultra-heavy machine gun that makes everybody run for cover. 

This Power functions as Special Attack, doing x7 Damage to targets within a 1x4 Square Arc, at a Range of 35 Squares. If you roll Doubles on the attack roll, you may forgo adding an exploding die to make a second attack on the same targets or within 5 Squares of the original target area, expending an additional Charge. You can also expend a Charge to expand the target Area into either a Medium Burst (5x5 Squares) or a Medium Arc (1x8 Squares). You can expend six Charges per Issue before you must re-supply the ammo belt for the Gatling Gun.

Krimson Karnage is a hulking man with the head of a bear. ‘Nuff said.
