Day 17: Doctor Olympia, Muscle Wizard (for B.A.S.H)

The second member of Doctors Without Boundaries.

What can we say about Doctor Olympia, the Man of Mystical Might, the Muscle Magus? He has fought Panoptikon, the Harlequin, and the Blue Conjurer many times, handing out beatings and grand proclamations liberally. Who is he though?

Olympia used to be Lance Younger, a reasonably intelligent man with no interest in academic pursuits. He grew up in comfortably middle class circumstances, but also grew to loathe his parents and their constant striving for promotions and better pay. A life of doing tricks for paltry scraps and attaboys was no life at all. Lance resolved to be strong. Strong enough to be free and take what he deserved.

Fitness, diets and intense exercise made a difference, of course. It wasn’t enough though. Being a strong man meant little. He had to be the strongest. Thus Lance started seeking other avenues. One fateful day the Book of Moxon fell into his sweaty hands.

Moxon was a demon, Lance learned. A creature so strong that it was able to rend reality and terrify even the gods. A mortal could gain that strength through arcane calisthenics and powerful eldritch mantras.

Lance performed the exercises and let the arcane words ring out, and within a week Doctor Olympia was born. Standing at around seven feet in height with muscles like a bodybuilder and dull grey skin, the Doctor is a sight to behold. His voice is deep and stentorian, and when he speaks the mantras of Moxon, he becomes a nigh-unstoppable powerhouse.

Motivation: Olympia refers to himself in the third person and no longer answers to Lance. His personality is an amalgam of Moxon (an imperious meathead with no time for planning) and Lance (an eager and intelligent young man with a strong individualist streak). He wants respect and luxury, along with a bit of score-settling.

Doctor Olympia (26 pts, 1 Disadvantage)

BRAWN 2 AGILITY 1 MIND 2

Defense x2, Mental Defense x2

Damage x2 (x3-5) (h2h)/x2 (ranged)

Soak x2 Hits: 100

Powers

Resistances (Arcane) (Level 1)

Mystic Detection, Volition Control.

Mystic Strength (Level 3)

Olympia uses mystic words of power to Boost his Brawn whenever lifting or using Brawn to do damage. It does not affect Soak or other rolls involving Brawn.

Limitation: Skill Check. Olympia must make an Occultism/ Channeling Check when he begins to use this Power. The result determines how many Ranks he may use. A 10+ allows him to use 1 Rank, a 20+ lets him use 2 Ranks, and a 30+ will allow him to use 3 Ranks.

Combat trance (Level 3)

Olympia enters a state of altered consciousness, allowing him to attack and move with uncanny speed. This works the same as Super Speed 3, allowing him to take an extra Panel per Page. While he is under the effects of the Combat Trance, he cannot speak.

Limitation: Skill Check. Olympia must make an Occultism/ Channeling Check when he begins to use this Power

Adaptive Defenses (Level 5)

By speaking the ancient words of rebuke, Olympia becomes more resistant and eventually immune to certain effects. The first time he is damaged by a particular source, like lasers, fire, cold, acid, etc., he takes damage normally. The second time he negates half the damage as if you had Resistance against it. The third time he is damaged by that source, he takes no damage at all, effectively having Immunity to it. This immunity lasts for a Scene.

Limitation: Skill Check. Olympia must make an Occultism/ Channeling Check when he begins using this Power.

Anti-Magic Ward (personal) (Level 4)

An outline of glowing runes protects against magical attacks. Likewise, it repulses or severely weakens magical creatures that enter it. An Anti-Magical Ward functions as a Force Field of the same Rank but only against magical effects. Magical creatures and enchanted objects are also blocked from passing through the borders of an Anti-Magical Ward.

Limitation: Skill Check. Olympia must make an Occultism/ Channeling Check when he begins using this Power.

Breath of Life (Level 3)

Circulating his arcane energy, Olympia heals and revitalizes himself shaking off wounds and debilitating effects. This power functions exactly like Healing and also Restore.

Limitation: Skill Check. Olympia must make an Occultism/ Channeling Check when he begins using this Power.

Skills

Physical: Athletics (Running, Climbing)

Mental: Occultism (Channeling x2)

Advantages:

Disadvantages: None.

Distinctive Appearance: Olympia has gray skin and is around 220 cm tal. He has great difficulty hiding, and his personality doesn’t help.
