Comae: A Sample Character

 I just bought the TTRPG Comae Engine. It is of the Mythras-BRP family, but seemingly a bit simpler. For one thing the skills list is significantly reduced (to nine!). It's still in beta, but it shows promise. 

Because I am terribly dull, I made a CoCish investigator as a test character. The background was suggested by Liminal Horror, and fleshed out by me. 

Addison Thorne

Addison works as an archivist at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library (Yale) . 

She survived an attack she cannot explain. One evening Addison found herself in a different library. The shelves were monolithic and stretched into the darkness. She was chased by formaldehyde-stinking creatures made from yellow bones, rusted metal and torn plastic. Subjectively the ordeal lasted about fifteen minutes, but when she emerged only seconds had passed. 

She believes in fate and that it directly impacts their life. She has a stout physique with a round face. Her speech is droning.

Addison is ambitious, but nervous. She suffers from being condemned by a faction in the Friends of Jerome. These, largely older, librarians feel that Addison has taken a great risk by digitizing a number of esoteric tomes. 

(The Friends of Jerome is a semi-secret of librarians, a mutual aid society against book collectors, price gougers, and occultists)

Her significant person is Isaiah Barnes, senior librarian and mentor.

Her contact is Kathryn Cunningham, an acquaintance from school. Kathryn comes from old money.
