31 Days Character Creation Challenge Day 11: Passing Strange (Troika! Hack)

Today's character is made with Troika!, using my Passing Strange hack.

Geras is a god, sleeping in a cave beneath the world. His gigantic body is stooped and bent with age and its indignities. His breath is like the wheezing of punctured bellows.  Hesiod refers to him as “hateful Geras”, and it is true that his modern worshipers do not love him, but rather try to ward him off with prostration and sacrifice.

Terrence Kehinde Morrison is one such worshiper, a priest of some standing in The Venerable Order of Senectus (Geras’ Latin name). He follows the unwritten rules of the Order, almost by instinct. Anyone under the age of thirty is practically a non-entity, and changes in social mores are roundly sneered at. He usually avoids the truly old, while professing his admiration for them and the ‘world they built’. The old remind him of where he is headed. Towards infirmity, irrelevance and death by degrees.

"I wanna talk to you older guys about a religion of bitterness and fear".

In order to stave off this fate, the Order gathers at the equinoxes and sacrifices a child or teenager. Whether this has any effect is a matter of faith, really. The practice has attracted the attention of the informal organization of children that call themselves Little League. Terry’s co-religionist Myron Mills was found dead in his yacht leasing business, having apparently been trapped in a game of hopscotch over the Easter weekend. A war may be in the offing.

It is easy to write off the Senectities as a nasty strain of conservatives, but they do possess magic given to them by their god, a tool to confer their bitterness and fear onto their enemies. Let the Little league come, Terry reasons. They’ll learn to respect their elders.

The caster manifests the wrath she constantly feels as an acid within the body of a person she is pointing at. The caster must be able to see the target in the flesh and the target must be able to see the caster (at least in theory). The caster utters an ancient Elemite term of loathing and the target starts coughing up vivid green bile and deep red blood.
